David Erlanson Art Gallery Location and Hours

The David Erlanson Art Gallery opened with its first show in the fall of 2000, and is located in the center of the Richland Community College campus and is used to display artwork of students, faculty, and professional artists. Each month a new artist is featured and the public is invited to a reception honoring the artist.

As an educational tool, the gallery provides an opportunity for students, staff and community members to see the work of some of the state's leading professional artists. Since its inception it has been the goal of the gallery to feature work that is challenging, thoughtful and conceptually stimulating. It is hoped that it will serve as an arena where a dialog may occur between the artwork and viewers. An effort has also been made to expose patrons to a variety of media. In its brief history, the gallery's shows have included nearly every traditional medium as well as installation and multimedia work.

Annual student and faculty shows are also featured, and the gallery space has served as a stage for other arts events such as readings and dramatic performances. The David Erlanson Gallery offers an important laboratory experience for students studying the visual arts and is an important asset to Richland Community College's Associate in Fine Arts program.

Current and Upcoming Exhibits

Patrons of the arts enjoy a new exhibit at the David Erlanson Art Gallery roughly once a month.

Exhibit Archive

Since 2000, the David Erlanson Art Gallery has hosted a variety of artists and exhibits including art with an international exposure, art produced in the trenches of war, as well as items created by students and faculty of Richland Community College.

Art on Campus

In addition to the gallery, permanently installed art is displayed throughout Richland’s campus. From graphic prints to paintings, art by former Richland students and professionals helps beautify the college. Please take note and enjoy as you navigate around campus.
