Alumni Benefits

Once you have graduated from Richland, you have many reasons to return to campus. Many of the facilities and services that were available to you as a student are still available to you as a Richland Alumni.

Alumni are always welcome to return to campus! Come over and have lunch at the Bistro Five Thirty Seven or Prairie Grille, or shop at the Richland Bookstore. You can browse in the library and take advantage of your privileges or enjoy an event. Your connections to Richland do not end when you graduate.

Alumni Membership Card

Richland is working to create benefits or discounted savings for alumni on a variety of services. To receive discounts, you will need an Alumni Membership Card. You can get a membership card by updating your information through our website. Currently, the following services are available:

Alumni Merchandise

Richland Community College alumni sweatshirts and t-shirts are available at www.rccbookstore.net by clicking on "Personalized Apparel from MyGarb" in the lower right-hand corner. Richland general merchandise is available at the Richland Bookstore, One College Park, in Decatur.

Art Gallery

With your Alumni Membership Card, you will receive special invitations to the David Erlanson Art Gallery opening receptions.

Continuing and Professional Education

Although your formal education may be complete, you can still return to Richland for courses. Personal enrichment, travel opportunities, professional development and even courses for your children are available through the Continuing and Professional Education Division.

Fitness Center

Alumni receive discounts on Richland Fitness Center memberships.  A three month membership is $60 (a discount of $5), a six month membership is $115 (a discount of $10) , and a full year membership is $185 (a discount of $15).  Contact Scott Broyles, Fitness Center Director, P.Ed. Instructor, at (217) 875-7211, Ext. 6290.

  • Keep books for 28 days with an option to renew
  • Issue a request for books charged by other patrons
  • Request books and articles through interlibrary loan
  • View videos from the collection within the library
  • Access selected web resources through computers in the LRC

Networking Opportunities

Network with alumni members by updating your personal information (address, e-mail, etc.). Networking will also be available through receptions and other events you will be invited to attend.

Richland Theatre

Alumni will receive an "alumni discount" when attending theatre productions in Shilling Auditorium. Tickets are $7 (a discount of $3) for students, senior citizens, and alumni.

Richland Community College Foundation Scholarships

Your children and spouse are eligible to apply for any of the scholarships offered by the Richland Community College Foundation. Additionally, there are two scholarships specific to Alumni.

Alumni Scholarship

A one-time scholarship for three credit hours tuition for all Richland alumni (certificate holders or degree graduates) interested in returning to Richland.
This does not apply to Continuing and Professional Education classes. The one-time scholarship is available if two or more years have passed since graduation. If the course is greater than three credit hours, the student must pay the difference and is responsible for all registration and instructional fees. An alumnus who withdraws from a class forfeits the waiver.
